ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“I am intrigued by the cairns found in Sedona, Arizona. I want to incorporate them into my work by bringing a vortex of energy and life force into each piece.”
I began my journey in San Francisco, California as an apprentice woodworker fabricating boat interiors. As the years went by I wanted more freedom of expression and became interested in mixing metal with wood to create furniture art. My wall art grew from the cairns found in Sedona, Arizona. I use river rocks as a central theme, bringing both strength and softness to each sculpture.
Each piece begins with rust patinated steel applied to a wooden frame. I then set a unique variety of elements into each piece, from river rock to patinated copper, gold and silver leaf as well as natural eggs. Each piece is finished with a clear coat of lacquer
